What it Really Means to Hold Space for Someone | on the edge

What it means to hold space for someone is that we are “willing to walk alongside another person in whatever journey they’re on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome,” according to Heather Plett.

As a business consciousness coach, I have realised that holding space comes from i) encouraging someone to grant themselves permission to trust their own intuition and wisdom, ii) supporting them in stepping into their power with the autonomy and agency over their own decisions, iii) leaving my ego at the door, believing that their success comes without my interference, and iv) allowing them to make different decisions and have different experiences than I would have.
